Ukrainian and Polish shtetls in the 18th and 19th centuries embodied a microcosm of the confrontation between the traditional East-European Jewish world and the modern Jewish world.
In this course, we will embark on a virtual historical tour of these unique Jewish communities. We will view historical maps, photographs, and Jewish cemeteries, which will breathe new life into vanished Jewish communities.
