For hundreds of years, the Ten Commandments have expressed the values and the norms of the Israelite nation. Are those norms still applicable in modern times?

In this course we will reexamine the beliefs embedded in the 10 Commandments:

  • What is wrong with idolatry anyway? Whom does it harm?
  • How does the Biblical injunction against murder and theft differ from the ancient world… from the world today?
  • Thou Shalt Not Covet- How can the Torah mandate our feelings, our most private thoughts?

From the House of Bondage to the House of our Neighbor, we will revisit the blueprint of the Jewish people.
