For Jews, Moses is the most important biblical figure – the person who led the children of Israel from slavery in Egypt to the Promised Land and who received the Torah from God and gave it to the people of Israel.
Following images of Moses in Jewish art and in Jewish visual culture can teach us important aspects of Jewish theology and philosophy and can offer a very rich understanding of Moses within history and world culture.
