In these sessions we will explore the Jewish struggle to understand and come to terms with the divine.
Using diverse sources from across Jewish history —from the Biblical Jacob to Rebbe Nachman of Bratslav, to Yehuda Amichai and Elie Weisel, and much more – we will examine how Jews tried to make sense of God in the midst of religious challenges, scientific revolutions, cultural changes, and human suffering.
We will also discuss both the ongoing desire of Jews to connect with the divine and the difficulties in achieving that goal.
