TALI textbooks offer substantive Jewish content and engaging illustrations that embrace the true diversity of Israeli society – men and women of all different religious, ethnic and racial backgrounds. This year TALI has published several new textbooks and classroom aids. A giant illustrated map of Israel was produced, along with an accompanying activity book and story book, and was distributed to all 400 TALI nursery schools. Large enough for little hands to see important details like cities, hiking paths and historical sites, the map will be a hands-on teaching tool for classrooms across the country.
There are also new 3rd- and 4th- grade textbooks. Sheli v’Shelachem (Mine and Theirs) is a unique textbook series that teaches Jewish-Israeli culture. Holidays and values like listening, honoring differences and teamwork are all taught through the lens of Jewish sources. The books, full of activities and stories drawn from contemporary society, are beautifully illustrated educational resources that will increase Jewish engagement.
