The Lou and Judy Miller z”l Endowment for TALI Education
TALI, which provides pluralistic Jewish education to well over 65,000 Israeli schoolchildren, offering programming in over 300 schools and pre-schools, has received a $1,000,000 endowment from the estate of Lou and Judy Miller z”l of Los Angeles.
The Millers were generous supporters of TALI for over 30 years, adopting various TALI schools, textbooks and projects throughout the years. At the same time, Lou served as a long-time Board member of The Schechter Institutes, Inc.
This is TALI’s first major endowment. The Miller family first announced their intention to designate a bequest of $1,000,000 as an endowment for TALI during an October 2013 visit, in which they brought four generations of their family to Jerusalem’s Schechter Institute.

As Rabbi Prof. David Golinkin, President of The Schechter Institutes, Inc., pointed out: “Thanks to this generous endowment, Lou and Judy Miller z”l will continue to have a huge impact on pluralistic Jewish education in Israel for decades to come.”
The interest from this endowment will enhance educational programming for TALI children, schools, teachers, and principals throughout Israel.
Dr. Peri Sinclair, Scott and Susan Shay TALI Director General, stated, “Their tremendous generosity over decades has immensely strengthened the idea that pluralistic Jewish education is a key element to the future of the Jewish state. TALI educates children and teachers to more fully understand the intricacies of their Jewish identities, thereby making them open to the pluralism of Jewish practice and belief.”
