Louis Ginzberg’s classic work, Legends of the Jews, presents the traditions of Biblical lore that are preserved in Second Temple and Rabbinic Literature. The six volumes that comprise this work cover the period from Creation of the World to the Return to Zion. The book encompasses legends taken from more than 60 different compositions, presented as one continuous story. The real treasure of the work is found in Ginzberg’s notes to each chapter.
