Midrash Esther Rabbah is the most important of the midrashim on Megillat Esther. Its foundations were laid in Eretz Yisrael during the Amoraic period and its final editing appears to have taken place in Europe in the 11thcentury. This is the first critical edition of this Midrash, including an Introduction, References, Variant Readings and Commentary.
