The Midrashim on Kohelet – Rabbah and Zuta – were edited in Eretz Yisrael during the late Talmudic period. They reflect the struggle of the Sages to understand one of the most challenging books of the Bible. They contains a wealth of Rabbinic thought about life and death, joy and sorrow. This is the first critical edition of the second half of these Midrashim,(the first half, edited by Prof. Marc Hirshman, was published by Schechter in 2016- https://schechter.edu/publication/midrash-kohelet-rabbah-1-6-hebrew/).
This edition includes the text of Kohelet Rabbah and Zuta, cross references to parallel sources, variant readings, and a commentary, along with an introduction.
This volume is the 5th volume of Midrash published by the Midrash Project of the Schechter Institute of Jewish Studies, Jerusalem.
