This book analyzes the reality of the life of the Jewish Women who immigrated to Eretz Yisrael in the beginning of the twentieth century and bound their destiny to the Zionist enterprise and the Workers’ Movement. The book examines how the women workers of the Histadrut were influenced by the development of modern nationalism and in particular by the development of Zionism, by the growth of feminist movements, by industrialization, by urbanization, and by the development of workers’ organizations for men and women. Did the movement in Eretz Yisrael create a different strategy of actions, in accordance with the circumstances of the time and the place? What can this teach us about the history of the Yishuv?
